Who We Are

China Bay Partners is a partnership of experienced foreign and Chinese businessmen. All partners have in common that they have many years of experience in working in senior positions with or in Chinese companies. We carefully choose our consultants for each new project. Next to our direct staff, we have access to a large pool of specialized free-lance consultants.
We are able to service you in English, German, Dutch, Mandarin and Cantonese.


Managing Partners

Mr. David Chow

  

David has over 20 years of experience in corporate strategic planning and implementation, cross-border business development, financial/internal control and supply chain management for multinational companies in the U.S. and Greater China. David is a managing partner in charge of our company’s business strategy and market development including corporate performance improvement through works of legal entity, taxation, M&A, OEM, strategic alliance, brand building and channel development. David also serves at various boards in the Greater China and the U.S. 

David’s professional career covers 12 years in the U.S. and 13 years in the Greater China region. In the U.S., he was a financial analyst at Motorola Inc. and later a manager then partner for 9 years with Speakman & Price CPAs. Beginning in 1992, he has held various executive positions in the Greater China region including CFO for Xian-Janssen Pharmaceutical – a Johnson & Johnson company that has been the largest multinational pharmaceutical company in China by sales for the last 14 years and still running, CFO and head of supply chain functions at Nabisco in Beijing, and CFO at Pillsbury and Haagen-Dazs for the Greater China based in Shanghai. David continued to work for General Mills following a merger with Pillsbury and Haagen-Dazs until 2003.

David is a graduate of Santa Clara University in Silicon Valley and completed M.S. Taxation program courses at American University. He is a U.S. Certified Tax Practitioner. He is also a U.S. CPA certified to practice in Washington, D.C., Maryland, California, and Florida. 

Mr. Marc van der Chijs

Marc is Dutch native with more than10 years experience in the automotive, consulting and media industries, in Europe, the US and Asia, with a focus on strategic planning and project management. Marc is a managing partner in charge of business development and project management. Marc also serves on the board of one of Toodou.com, China’s leading video website, and is CEO of Spill Group Asia, an online gaming company.

Marc started his career at DaimlerChrysler’s headquarters in Germany in a financial controlling position. After an SAP implementation project for DaimlerChrysler in Indonesia, he returned to headquarters where he was in charge of revenue controlling for the US and Canada. After three years he was appointed as a senior manager at DaimlerChrysler China in Beijing. In 2002 he decided to leave DaimlerChrysler to set up his own consulting company in China. This company merged into China Bay in 2004. During this time he co-founded Toodou.com, and he became CEO of Spill Group Asia in January 2006.

Marc is a graduate of Maastricht University in the Netherlands from which he holds a Master’s degree in Business Economics. In addition to his Economics degree Marc studied Mandarin Chinese at a Beijing’s Foreign Language University. Marc has lived in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, USA, Indonesia, China, and on Curaçao.
